with Pebble Beach and Mauna Kea in California and Hawaii, respectively, Rob
Rienecker has played at the Doral and TPC Sawgrass.
The Blue Monster at Doral Golf Resort and Spa has played host to many of the greatest names
in PGA TOUR history, and it is the site of the World Golf Championships-Cadillac
Championship. Originally designed by renowned course designer Dick Wilson in
the 1950s, The Blue Monster is one of the most challenging courses in the
country and full of history. The Blue Monster is currently being renovated and
enhanced by course architect Gil Hanse, who is working side-by-side with Donald
Trump and the PGA.
The course plays 7,125 yards from the tournament
tees, sporting deviously placed bunkers that require the utmost skill to
navigate. Its long fairways, gracefully waving greens, unique water hazards,
and roughs constructed of Bermuda grass ensure challenges offered nowhere else.
Indeed, GOLF Magazine has hailed its 18th hole as one of the Top 100 Holes in
the World and Golfweek identified the course as one of the “best you can play.”
